Angelo T. Robinson, an interdisciplinary artist based in Madison, Alabama, has a unique journey that has significantly shaped his art. A self-taught artist, he served in the US Navy for 10 years of active duty and 4 years in the Naval Reserves as a Seabee. His travels to diverse locales such as Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece, Africa, France, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Egypt, the Virgin Islands, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates have deeply influenced his approach to art. The vibrancy, diversity, and simple beauty of the cultures he experienced are unmistakably present in his work.

His work exudes spirituality, uncanny organic connections with duality, and a deep understanding of the human condition. This is a direct reflection of his experiences growing up with a city grandmother and a country grandmother, and of being the son and grandson of preachers. Angelo’s creations invite the viewer to participate in a physical, mental, or spiritual dialogue with their experience. He brings deep, vibrant abstracts, joyous mixed-media pieces, figures, large-scale installations, or assemblages to life using vivid colors, found objects, everyday items, and bold compositions.

Angelo's vision for the future is one where technology, traditional media, and objects converge to challenge perceptions of reality. His work delves into themes of identity, resilience, and the human experience, inviting viewers to connect with their own narratives. By integrating his military, spiritual, and creative experiences with common visual elements, Angelo aims to create dynamic environments that resonate emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually with each observer. Angelo's work has been recognized in various exhibitions. He has participated in juried group exhibits such as the Art San Diego Contemporary Art Fair and the Savage Wonder Festival, as well as solo and group shows in Charleston, SC; Beacon, NY; San Bruno, CA; Waukegan, IL; Blue Ridge, GA; and Atlanta, GA, to name a few. He actively curates group shows and manages other creatives, and continues to participate in select exhibitions and produce his own shows each year.
