In the movie “Wanted ” starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, and Morgan Freeman, the Loom of Fate was supposed to expose people who created evil and chaos. The mistakes in its patterns represented the names of those who had been chosen by the universe to be removed from the earth in order to maintain stability and peace. However, it ended up being used for personal gain thus creating the very evil and chaos it was supposed to stop.

This piece is a commentary on our own struggle to use what we have to bring peace into the world or succumb to evil thoughts and actions. The more we stare into the Loom of Fate, aka the mirror, we should see more of our own errors and mistakes which should give us empathy for others. It should guide us to self-discovery. This painting is meant to allow the consumer to sit in front of it and the longer it is viewed, the deeper the reflection/mediation should be.
